SUGAR LAND, TX — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has announced two appointments to the state’s Commission on Judicial Conduct, which includes Indian American Sujeeth Draksharam.
Draksharam, as well as other appointee Darrick McGill, will serve on the commission through November 19, 2021.
The commission regulates the conduct of the state judiciary, including the power to recommend for retirement, censure, suspension or removal of a judge from office.
Draksharam, of Sugar Land, is the president of Sirrus Engineers Inc., which he started some 15 years ago in 2002. Earlier, the licensed professional engineer with a civil engineering focus since 1998 has served as a consultant at various local Texas firms.
He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Association of State Floodplain Managers.
Draksharam also volunteers with various community groups, among them Harris County Street Olympics and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
He earned his Bachelor’s in civil engineering at Nagrajuna University in India and a Master’s in civil engineering from the University of Houston.
