ST LOUIS, MO – The India Association of St Louis (IASTL) has been an active organization in the Missouri region that strives to bring all the Indian community together to celebrate India’s cultural heritage and promote better relationship among the communities.
It recently organized two events–Consul General’s visit and ‘Spring Festival -2018’ and both were a grand success.
IASTL hosted the Consul General of India, Chicago, Neeta Bhushan, and her husband Anurag Bhushan, joint secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, at Mahatma Gandhi center on March 13.
After IASTL president Krishna Rao Moharir’s welcome speech, Neeta Bhushan spoke on the current regulations and commerce relations between India and United States of America and detailed the opportunities of the NRIs to visit and have business relations.
She also invited the members of Indian community of St. Louis to attend the functions in Chicago and promised that the consulate will be open for communication. She answered various questions asked by the community members.
IASTL is planning to host the consular services on May 13 as a combined effort with Mahatma Gandhi Cultural Center.
IASTL also celebrated the ‘Spring Festival-2018’ colorfully on April 1 at local Mahatma Gandhi Cultural Center and almost 400 guests made the function one of the most beautiful one. Moharir said the colourful, four-hour cultural programs were performed by more than 175 participants who mesmerized the audience.
Certificates were distributed to the participants and the vote of thanks was delivered by Sharath Rao, IASTL secretary.
The event featured dance and music programs, rangoli competitions, and exhibition of various local vendors with stalls displaying costumes, jewelry and food.
