SAN FRANCISCO, CA- As Indian Americans continue to make strides at higher offices in the US, the news of Radhika Fox being confirmed to lead Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water came as another feather in the cap,

On Wednesday, the US Senate confirmed Fox’s nomination by 55 to 43 votes. While seven Republican Senators supported her candidature, two Democratic senators did not cast their votes.

Fox was nominated by President Joe Biden in the month of April for the post of Assistant Administrator for Water, Environment Protection Agency. After her confirmation, the US EPA Water welcomed her selection.

Currently, Fox serves as the Acting Assistant Administer for Water. Before joining the EPA, Fox was the Chief Executive Officer for the US Water Alliance. In the past, Fox has also directed the policy and government affairs agenda for San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. She has also served as the Federal Policy Director at Policy Link, where her work involved coordinating the organization’s policy agenda on issues such as transportation, workforce development, infrastructure investment, and economic inclusion.

A Bachelor of Arts graduate from Columbia University, Fox completed her Masters in City Planning from the University of California at Berkeley.

Fox’s selection comes with a high appreciation as the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman Tom Carper, praised her on the Senate floor and highlighted that organizations such as US Chamber of Commerce, the Family Farm Alliance and the U. Water Alliance have endorsed her for the position.
