Indian American Nahid Bhadelia on White House Covid-19 Response Team

WASHINGTON , DC- Infectious diseases physician Nahid Bhadelia has been appointed as the Senior Policy Advisor for Global COVID Response at the White House. Bhadelia has been named for the position by President Joe Biden.

The team has been created by Biden to strategically respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bhadelia is on a sabbatical from her full-time position as the Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Boston University’s School of Medicine.

Bhadelia has extensive experience in the health care system response to infectious diseases like Ebola, Zika and Covid-19.

Bhadelia was born in India and grew up in Saudi Arabia and Sweden. She came to the US with her dad, also a physician as a young teenager.
