Hartford, CT- Indian American multi-sports coach Jatin Patel has been awarded the prestigious Cricket Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award, joining an esteemed group of cricket legends such as Sir Garfield “Gary” Sobers and Dr. Michael Holding.

This is the eighth time the award has been given since 1981. Patel’s recognition adds to his list of accolades, including the USA President’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the State of Indiana Governor’s Long-Term Public Service Recognition. He is also a USA Cricket Hall of Famer, having been inducted in 2020 and becoming a board member in 2021.

Patel’s contributions to cricket in the United States are highly regarded, particularly in developing scholastic cricket, training coaches, and supporting numerous youth cricket academies and community programs. Patel expressed his joy and gratitude for the awards, comparing it to scoring a hat-trick in cricket. Dr. Shivnarine Chanderpaul, a cricket hall of famer and former West Indies captain, commended Patel’s dedication to the sport. The Cricket Hall of Fame will present Patel with a ring and blazer during the 43rd Induction ceremony in October 2023.
