WASHINGTON, DC- An Indian American has been arrested for intentionally crashing a U-Haul truck into a security barrier near the White House on Monday night. The accused is 19-year-old Sai Varshith Kandula, of Chesterfield, Missouri. He is currently in custody and has been charged with various offenses, including making threats to kill or harm a president, vice president, or a family member.

On Monday night, Kandula crashed his truck into security barriers on the northside of Lafayette Square at 16th Street. A preliminary investigation suggests the driver may have intentionally targeted the barrier, according to the secret service.
