India qualify for World Cup

The Indian women’s hockey team today booked a berth for the World Cup after reaching the semifinals of the Asia Cup here.

Gurjit Kaur slammed a hat-trick while Monika and Jyoti scored a brace each as the defending champions beat Singapore 9-1 in their final pool game. India face South Korea, while Japan meet China in the semifinals on Wednesday.
