‘India Ka Chamcha’ Pakistani Fans Bash Shoaib Akhtar For Rubbing Kapil Dev’s Shoulders

It is time for the T20 World Cup 2021, which means that the epic rivalry between India and Pakistan will once again be put on a rare display for all the international cricket fans. 

It also means that the legends from the two nations will finally get to sit next to each other and talk about their passion at the same table.

On Saturday evening, former Pakistani cricketer and pacer, Shoaib Akhtar shared some pictures of him spending some quality time with some of the ‘all-time greats’ from India, including the opening batter Sunil Gavaskar and the 1983 World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev.

“Chilling with the best of the best. The great Zaheer Abbas, Sunil Gavaskar & Kapil Dev. All set for the cricket ka maha muqabla,” Akhtar wrote in the caption as he tweeted the wholesome pictures.

Unfortunately, his fans from Pakistan did not think of these pictures as wholesome. Instead, they took them as an insult and called their pacer an “Indian bootlicker”.

Akhtar and his candid nature have been loved and adored by his fans in India. 

Despite the political issues keeping the two sides from having bilateral series, it is through the pacer’s YouTube channel and other social media platforms that the two sides continue to interact and appreciate each other.

However, with the recent misfortunes of the Pakistan Cricket Board, in which New Zealand and England withdrew themselves from having a bi-lateral series in Pakistan due to security threats, their national government has blamed the Indian Intelligence forces for throwing a wrench in their plans.

As a result, Pakistani fans have once again become hostile towards their Indian counterparts and hence, the negative backlash towards one of their own for mixing up and chatting with the Indian legends.

India and Pakistan are scheduled to lock horns on October 24, 2021 (Sunday) in the Round of 12 of the T20 World Cup 2021 at the Dubai International Stadium. 

This will be their first encounter since the World Cup 2019 in England which India had won by 89 runs. The Men in Blue are still undefeated versus Pakistan in the T20 and 50-over World Cups.
