I-League’s Kolkata derby rescheduled to Feb 17

New Delhi, Feb 11: The Kolkata derby match between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan of the I-League football tournament will take place Feb 17, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) said in a statement Wednesday.

The match was earlier scheduled to be played Feb 11. But it was pushed back to the new date due to security reasons. The match will be held at the Salt Lake Stadium.

The decision was made following the I-League committee meeting chaired by the tournament vice chairman Ankur Datta. AIFF general secretary Kushal Das, AIFF vice-president Subrata Dutta and I-League CEO Sunando Dhar attended the meeting, along with representatives from the I-League Clubs.

The committee also discussed at length about the upcoming Under-15 Youth League that will be held for three seasons with the U-17 FIFA World Cup 2017 in the forefront.
