Hyderabad: Nurse held selling Remdesivir vials in black market

Hyderabad: The West Zone Task Force nabbed a male nurse on charges of illegally selling Remdesivir injections at Aghapura in Habeebnagar here on Saturday. Police seized four Remdesivir vials from him.

The arrested person was M Raja (22), a male nurse at a private hospital in Musheerabad, who was staying in a men’s hostel in Nampally.

According to the police, Raja, a native of Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, was working as a nurse for the last one year and observed the demand for Remdesivir injections.

“He started illegally selling the Remdesivir injections to customers at high rates, without any medical prescription or bill,” police said, adding that based on a tip-off, the Task Force caught Raja when he came near the Aghapura function hall to deliver the vials to customers.

He was handed over to the Habeebnagar police for further action.
