There’s a sense of sartorial excitement that fall brings. After living in casual tank tops, denim shorts, and flimsy fabrics for the past few months, I, for one, love the pivot in style choices that the crisp autumn air and that back-to-school (or work) feeling brings—especially when it comes to dressing for the job. If you’re going back to the office soon, or want looks to put together if you’re going in a few days a week, we’ve got you covered with plenty of outfit inspiration.

“Knit separates make for my favorite fall outfit to wear to the office. They look luxe but are actually so comfy. What more could you want in a work outfit? Once the weather cools, I’ll be swapping the mules out for a pair of ankle boots.”

“This outfit is about as classic as it gets, but little details make it feel current. The red mules with a vintage shape add a pop of color, and I left my straight-leg black jeans long instead of hemming them to show some ankle. Mark my words: Longer-hemline pants will be everywhere this season.”

For a timeless look with a twist, I’m opting for this cool crew-neck with an asymmetric high-low hem. It adds instant polish to a simple pair of slim jeans. I’m finishing the look with black strappy sandals while it’s still warm enough to expose my toes.
