BUY-SELL | HELP WANTED | MATRIMONIAL

Dhanteras marks the beginning of Diwali and is celebrated with much fervour. On this day people buy something new as it’s considered auspicious.

We speak to celebrities and find out what are they planning to purchase this year. Also, considering the fact that the pandemic taught us, what would be the right investment this Dhanteras. Here’s what celebs have to say:

Wise investment
Ridhiema Tiwari

Like every year I plan to buy a silver coin, Laxmi sikka for Dhanteras. Traditionally everybody in my family believes in buying precious metals like gold or silver in form of jewellery or coins as it brings prosperity. Prosperity is not just about money, this is the first lesson pandemic taught me. We survived the lockdowns with bare essentials. So, we can definitely continue doing so saving money, investing it cautiously and using it wisely.

Giving it a miss
Bidita Bag

I don’t buy anything on Dhanteras and it’s my personal choice. People find it auspicious to buy things on Dhanteras which helps local sellers. I used to buy things all-round the year. In 2018, I have become a minimalist. During the pandemic I realised that I have way too many things than required.

Birth connection
Dalljiet Kaur

Every year on Dhanteras, I try to buy some jewellery and soak in the festive spirit. This year I am going to have the puja at my house and celebrate with my loved ones. I was born on Diwali which is why my nickname is Deepa and Diwali begins with Dhanteras. So, I’m really looking forward to the festival.

Thought for the future
Sharad Malhotra

I invest in gold. It is always the safest investment. It is necessary to invest right. The pandemic has definitely taught us to be more careful about spending and saving. We all need to be ready for bad days and plan for the future.

Gold amp; glitter
Ragini Nandwani

Well, I usually buy gold on Dhanteras and something in steel for the house. The pandemic has been an eye-opener and a reality check which taught us that saving is very important to survive the tough times.

Aye for metal
Pranitaa Pandit

I always buy silver and gold on Dhanteras. I’ll buy something in gold for my daughter Anysha this year. The pandemic has taught us a lot. We have surely learnt that we can manage with limited resources. Also, one must value money, make the right investment to secure his future.

Looking inside
Saurabh Agarwal

Tera dhan bheetar hai, kab tak dhoondega baaharhellip; Actually, we tend to look outside, but everything has a symbolic value and connects with us internally. If we happen to be intelligent enough to understand our inner values, we shall transform ourselves and also the society we live in. That’s my belief.
