Friends of Hindu University of America Gala Hosted in Houston

HOUSTON, TX- The Friends of HUA Gala held on March 26th, 2023 was a successful event that was attended by 500 community members in Houston. The gala honored Kiran and Ramesh Bhutada and their family for their generous gift of one million dollars to Hindu University of America (HUA). The evening was filled with music, speeches, and reflections on the importance of Hindu education and the role of HUA in imparting Hindu knowledge to the younger generations.

The event opened with a music performance by Dr. Kanniks Kannikeswaran, a faculty member at HUA, which was followed by a short video on HUA’s courses and programs. Ramesh Bhutada, CEO of Star Pipe Products, shared why he chose to support HUA and stressed the need for Hindu education to be imparted in an established academic setting. HUA President Kalyan Viswanathan called on all attendees to support HUA in its mission to become a leading hub for Hindu knowledge and learning.

HUA Chairman Ved Nanda stated that the institution belongs to the entire Hindu community and will seek to become an authoritative voice in the academic domain for all matters pertaining to Hindu Dharma. Other notable speakers included Robert Boustany, a Houston-based Physicist and Yoga Instructor, and Rasesh Dalal, Chairman of HGH Board of Advisors.

The evening was marked by a call for unity among the Hindu community and a commitment to support HUA in its mission to preserve Hindu wisdom and values for future generations. The event was volunteer supported by members of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, Houston.
