FIA Chicago’s annual India Ind.Day gala

CHICAGO, IL – At the recently-held FIA Chicago’s annual India Independence Day Gala, its Founder-President Sunil Shah underscored glaring inconsistencies in Schaumburg’s sluggish progress and announced himself as a candidate for Schaumburg Mayor in Village’s ensuing elections.

Sunil Shah was delivering his welcome speech before a gathering of over 300 guests. Prominent amongst the guests included the Chief Guest Consul General of India, Ms Neeta Bhushan; President Elect of AAPI, Dr Suresh Reddy; President of Indian American Medical Association, Dr Sreenivas Reddy; Chicago’s Eminent Plastic Surgeon, Dr Dhaval Patel; Chicago’s Mayoral Candidate, Willie Wilson; State Representative Michelle Mussman. The Gala was organized under the aegis of Dr Kamal Patel at Fairflied Inn in Schaumburg.

Chief Guest of the evening Ms Neeta Bhushan, Consul General of India at Chicago complimented FIA Chicago for putting together the glittering Independence Day Gala.

Addressing the guests, current FIA President Neil Khot expressed happiness that someone from FIA Chicago has stood for the Mayor Candidate.

Similar feeling were expressed by Dr Dhaval Patel, the Guest of Honor .

In his keynote, Dr Sreenivas Reddy, President IAMA expressed concern over the increased racial hatred in America

Judge Linda Davenport and Vijay Prabhakar gave best wishes to FIA Chicago

Some of the guests of honor were also recognized on stage. FIA Vice President Hitesh Gandhi introduced Brij Sharma and presented Brij Sharma with a plaque. Dr Kamal Patel and Deepak Kant Vyas presented presented a plaque to Dr Sreenivas Reddy and to Dr Dhaval Patel. A plaque was also presented to Syed Hussaini by State Representative Michelle Mussman. Judge Linda Davenport presented FIA VP Gurmeet Singh Dhalwan with an Appreciation Award.

Later a colorful cultural performance was presented under the aegis of Prathiba Jairath. Ms Garima’s students started the stage program with the ‘Ganesh Vandana.’ The program comprised of classical and folk dances.

Prathiba Jairath presented ‘Indian Bride Show’ under the theme of ‘India’s Unity in Diversity. In this the brides from several Indian states presented wedding customs and outfits of UP, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Bengal, Punjab, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh.

Singers Atul Verma, Foram Thakkar, Prathiba Jaitrath and Amrita Saha regaled the audience with mesmerizing songs that evening. Ms. Shuba Vedula sang American National Anthem; and Ms Mithi Vyas sang the Indian National Anthem.

The co-MCs were Prathiba Jairath, Aishwarya Sharma and Saurin Thakkar. Gagan from famous Shree Restaurant catered. Sanjay Shah’s Arlington Rental provided the interior décor

Entire team worked very hard to make this program a success.
