FBI Adds Indian Woman in its Missing Persons List

JERSEY CITY, NJ- Mayushi Bhagat, an Indian student in the US, was last seen leaving her apartment in Jersey City on April 29,2019.

Now, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has added this 28-year-old woman, who has been missing from New Jersey for the last three years, to its list of “Missing Persons” and is asking for assistance from the public on her whereabouts. She was wearing colorful pajama pants and a black t-shirt, she is 5’10” tall, medium build (150-160 pounds), with black hair and brown eyes ” said the FBI.
Mayushi had texted to her father via Whatsapp at 12:30 a.m. on May 1 that she was okay, but would not be returning until May 3. Her father that he doesn’t believe she wrote the WhatsApp message, and that the language didn’t sound like her.

So Mayushi tried to call her on May 1, but only got voicemail. He contacted the Jersey City police that day asking for help. The police asked for anyone who’d been in contact with her to reach out to them.

Bhagat came to the United States in 2016 on an F1 Visa. She was enrolled at the University of New Hampshire and then the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), according to information released by the FBI.

The FBI has put Bhagat’s ‘Missing Person’ poster on its website under the “Most Wanted” list of “Kidnappings/Missing Persons.”
