Dr. Indrakrishnan is on Georgia Board

ATLANTA, GA — Dr Indrakrishnan has been sworn in to the Georgia Board for Physician Workforce (GBPW).

The ceremony was held at the Georgia state capitol and Governor Nathan Deal administered the oath to Dr Indrakrishnan.

The function was graced by many Georgia political stalwarts, including Secretary of the state Brian Kemp, president pro tempore of the senate David Shafer, Senator Michael Dugan, state representatives Brooks Coleman , Timothy Barr & David Clerk and Indian Consul General Nagesh Singh.

The board’s executive director Lasharn Hughes and CEO of medical Association of Georgia Don Palmisano, founders of Meals by Grace Stephen & Suellen Daniels and Dr Indrakrishnan’s wife Gayathri also attended the function.

Georgia Board for Physician Workforce is comprised of distinguished physicians, hospital/health system executives, and consumer members.

Dr Indrakrishnan is the first physician of Asian descent to have been appointed to this board. He is a clinical Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and has his Gastroenterology private practice in Lawrenceville, a suburb of Atlanta.

Governor’s gubernatorial executive appointment of Dr Indrakrishnan to the board has drawn lawmakers’ bipartisan felicitations from both sides of the aisle.

Congressman Rob Woodall commented that he always admired Dr Indrakrishnan’s commitment to serving his community and he is thrilled to hear of his appointment to the Georgia Board of Physicians Workforce. He further stated that Governor Deal has made a wonderful choice, and I know Georgians will be well served with Dr. Indrakrishnan in this new role."

Senators Michael Dugan and Mark Newton, State representatives Betty Price , Timothy Barr & David Clark have also praised Dr Indrakrishnan’s dedicated service to the community.

U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga, praised Dr. Indrakrishnan and excellent work for his patients.

Dr Indrakrishnan is on the boards of national and state non –profit organizations which include Fight colorectal cancer, Meals by Grace, Third eye dancers , Georgia colorectal cancer round table and American India Foundation.
