HI INDIA NEWS DESK
PATERSON, NJ- The Pickle King factory located in Paterson, New Jersey was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out early on Saturday morning. The incident was confirmed by Deputy Chief Jason Macomes who stated that there was a partial collapse of the roof structure and fire crews battled the flames for several hours. Despite being able to bring the main body of the fire under control by 9 a.m., the situation was still difficult to handle due to the presence of flammable objects inside the building, including a large amount of storage boxes and shipping materials.
One firefighter sustained a minor injury to his hand after a slip and fall and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that the building was empty when they arrived and that employees were last in the building on Friday.
Fortunately, the Pickle King factory is located near the Panther Academy and Passaic County Community College, both of which were not impacted by the fire, according to Mayor Andre Sayegh. He expressed his relief that the firefighters were able to protect the school, which was the main concern. Authorities are currently assessing the situation and determining if students can return to the college on Monday.
It has been reported that the Pickle King factory has had past issues with squatters, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the police. The devastating fire has caused significant damage to the building and has left the local community in shock.
