Cyclists add 2 bronze at Asian Track Cycling Championships

New Delhi, June 20

India continued their good run at the Asian Track Cycling Championships, winning two bronze medals on the third day of the competition here today.

Ronaldo Singh bagged the country’s first-ever international medal — a bronze — in the men’s senior 1km time trial event. The world junior champion and Asian record holder clocked 1 minute and 1.798 seconds. Yuta Obara of Japan won gold with 1:01.118, while Malaysia’s Muhammad Fadhil clocked 1:01.639s to claim silver.

Another bronze was added by Birjit Yumnam in the 40-lap 10km race in the men’s junior category.

After three days, India’s tally has risen to 20 medals.
