Congressman Thanedar Welcomed by US India Security Council at Boston Meet and Greet Event

The New England Indian community recently hosted a Meet and Greet event for Congressman Shri Thanedar, welcoming him to the area. The event was organized by the President of the US India Security Council, Mr Ramesh Vishwanath Kapur, and held at the Clay Oven restaurant in Lexington, MA.

In his remarks, Mr Kapur welcomed Congressman Thanedar and praised his vision for his district, which has a large concentration of Democrats and African-Americans. He also discussed his work with Vice President Kamala Harris on providing broadband access to inner cities and expressed his interest in working with Congressman Thanedar to bring this technology to Michigan. Mr Kapur stressed the importance of engaging the younger generation in politics and making a difference in their communities.

Congressman Thanedar shared his personal journey as an immigrant to the United States, his education and work in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, and his success as an entrepreneur before entering public service. He spoke about his experience as a Member of the Michigan House of Representatives and his current role as a Congressman from Michigan’s 13th Congressional District.

The Meet and Greet event was supported by the Federation of Indian Association, New England and attended by prominent business and community leaders, as well as high school students. The presence of Mr Amar Sawhney, Mrs Deepika Sawhey, Ms Priya Samant, Ms Vaishali Gade, Dr Balchandra Parulkar, Dr Rahul Datar, Dr Sumita Gokhale, Mr. Ashok Patel, Mr. Deepak Rathod, Mr. Bhaskar Patil, Ms. Susan Whitehead, Mr Anand Sharma, Ms Sonali Doshi, Mr Santosh Salvi, and others added to the event’s success.
