CHICAGO, IL-  During their 21st Annual Gala this past fall, Leyden Family Service and the Start Here Addiction Rehabilitation & Education (SHARE) Program bestowed the title of Person of the Year upon Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi in recognition of his unwavering commitment to “enhancing the well-being of the communities he serves.” His remarkable contributions include securing essential federal funding to support vital renovations at the SHARE Program’s facilities.

Leyden Family Service and Mental Health offers a comprehensive range of counseling, treatment, and preventative care services for a diverse clientele, including adults, adolescents, senior citizens, children, and families. These services encompass treatment programs designed to assist individuals grappling with substance abuse, gambling addiction, and various other mental health challenges.

The SHARE Program, a non-profit alcohol and drug detox rehabilitation center situated in Hoffman Estates, additionally provides outpatient gambling services. Since its establishment in 1977, it has touched the lives of over 40,000 clients. Notably, Congressman Krishnamoorthi played a pivotal role in securing $266,059 in federal funding last year to facilitate much-needed repairs and upgrades to the SHARE Program’s facilities, thereby enhancing the quality of care extended to the community members it serves.

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi expressed his gratitude, stating, “I extend my heartfelt thanks to Leyden Family Service and the SHARE Program for bestowing this honor and for their tireless efforts in providing vital mental health support to our region. In an era where our nation is grappling with the opioid epidemic and a multitude of mental wellness challenges, I take great pride in collaborating with Leyden Family Service and Mental Health, as well as the SHARE Program, to address the needs of our valued community members.”
