Chinmaya Mission Chicago hosted Sampoorna Bhagavad Gita Saptah

CHICAGO,IL To commemorate the culmination of the 25 year anniversary celebration of Lord Badrinarayana Sthapana Puja at the Badri center, a Sampoorna Bhagavad Gita saptah was held on October 14-20, 2019, for the benefit of the community.

Swami Shantananda, President of Chinmaya Mission West, expounded the eternal and timeless message of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita over the 7 days. In a simple yet profound stye, Swamiji covered the essence of all 18 chapters with the appropriate highlighted verses to bring the message of the Holy Gita to all seekers present. It was well attended and inspired all.

Chinmaya Mission Chicago has been providing yeoman service to the Chicagoland families for over 35 years under the the able direction of CMC president, Shri Shanker Pillai and the spiritual guidance of Swami Sharanananda. Mission offers weekly value based Bala Vihar classes for children, Shishu Vihar for toddlers and adult study group discussions.
The weekly activities, envisioned by Swami Chinmayananda over 50 years ago are time tested and designed to inspire, uplift and transform the individuals and families.

A dedicated volunteer team organized the saptah with daily chanting of Bhagavad Gita, Vedic chanting, cultural programs, bhajans and meals to provide the necessary ambiance and convenience for all attendees. The children presented a hand painted mural with love to Swamiji. The week culminated with kalasha puja on Sunday morning with Shri Chandrashekara Gurukkal, who was also present for the original Sthapana 26 years ago.
