Chicago Indian Community Celebrates 72nd I-Day Gala Dinner

CHICAGO, IL— On August 15th, the Federation of Indian Associations organized the 72 Independence Day gala Dinner at the Chicago Cultural Center in Downtown Chicago. More than 150 guests were in attendance, including community leaders and organization representatives.

On this occasion, Consulate General of India, Chicago’s Neeta Bhusan addressed the Indian community with a speech, thanking them for their support. Dr. Bharat Barai and Congressman Danny K. Davis gave their best wishes as Indians celebrate their 72nd Independence Day.

Davis also presented the 2018 Multiethnic Advisory Task Force Golden Eagle leadership Award to Neeta Bhushan for “exemplary leadership in strengthening US Indian relationship in the Midwest states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.”

Guests enjoyed a night of fun and entertainment with Indian dance performances by Dance Academy, followed by a lavish dinner.

The gala successfully honored the Indian community as India goes into it’s 72nd year of independence.
