CHICAGO, IL — The Consulate General of India, Chicago will celebrate the 4th International Day of Yoga at a grand scale on June 16 at Millennium Park, Downtown Chicago.
The Consulate and Sant Nirankari Mission, Chicago organized an event on May 20 at Sant Nirankari Bhavan and Community Center, West Chicago as a precursor to the Yoga Day. Around a hundred community members of the Chicagoland area attended the event.
The event commenced with yoga exercises conducted by Yashpal Singh for about 45 minutes. Also held was a talk on yoga by Prerna Arya, teacher of Indian culture at the Consulate, and a spiritual discourse by Rana Singh, spiritual devotee of the Nirankari Mission. The program also featured bhajans and devotional songs.
D. B. Bhati, Consul and Head of Chancery, said that the International Day of Yoga will be celebrated in collaboration with the City of Chicago and Chicago-Delhi Sister-City Relations Committee on June 16 at Millennium Park, 201 E Randolph St, Chicago.
Dignitaries, government officials, community leaders and the yoga followers will be present.
