New Delhi, Jan 28 (IANS) It was an enthralling evening of music, fashion and food with heartwarming performances by talent from across the north-east.

The event on Tuesday at the Dzukou – a fine diner in Hauz Khas Market – celebrated the success stories of people from the eight states who have made an identity for themselves in different fields – from music to art to fashion.

"The event has been organised to promote the young talent that is coming up from the northeast. We are celebrating the success stories of people belonging to the northeast and supporting each other," event organiser and Dzukou owner – also its chief chef – Karen Yepthomi told IANS.

The event started of with heart-thumping music played by DJ INA followed by songs by Edwin Kubzar and Roselyn Hmar that created a melodious mood.

The models then set the stage fire with the fall-winter creations of Atsu Sekhose. Models like Kethose Nagi, a Nagaland born Britain-based model and Carol Humtose walked the ramp, with the showstopper being Katholeno Kense, winner of Kingfisher Calendar Girl Model Hunt 2014.

"My collections always carry influences of Nagaland. It is an amalgamation of western culture with Naga tradition," Sekhose, who is ready with his next collection – themed the global traveller with influences from Russia, Morocco and Nagaland – told IANS.

Sekhose who loves to dress up Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor said that talent from the northeast needs to be recognised and more events focused of them need to be orgainised.

Echoing this thought was model-actor Ketholeno Kense, who was excited and happy to be a part of the event.

"There are many talented people from the northeastern states who don’t get much of an opportunity to display their talent. Events like this will encourage the people and our talent will be showcased" Kense, who will be seen in upcoming movie “Shamitabh” sharing screen space with Dhanush, told IANS.

Rounding off the event were lipsmacking and authentic Naga delicacies that were served for dinner.

Yepthomi said that the restaurant will host other events like book launches and food festivals in the near future.
