Hyderabad: The Bhadradri Thermal Power Station (BTPS) at Manuguru in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district on Sunday declared commencement of commercial operations from unit-IV.
The BPTS, which was the first power project taken up by the State government after formation of Telangana, successfully completed Commercial Operations Declaration (COD) on Sunday at 8.37 am and achieved an average load of 275.78 MW.
With this, all four units started generating power. The COD of the first unit was completed on June 5, 2020 while that of the second unit on December 7, 2020 and third unit on March 26, 2021.
In all, 1080 MW is now connected to the grid. Officials said the total expenditure incurred so far was Rs.7,674 crore. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao laid the foundation stone for the BTPS project on March 28, 2015.
