Happiness Corner: A Movement To Help The Middle Class Live With Dignity

A new movement, ‘Happiness Corner’ has been started for the benefit of the middle class, inspired by the concept of ‘Neki Ki Diwar’. The maiden movement by Swajan, led by Bhargav N Patel has been started in the Vile Parle area of Mumbai.

Through the movement, assistance will be provided in the form of food, clothes, utensils, shoes, bags healthcare, counselling, legal services etc. to the people from the middle class so they can live their life with dignity and respect. The goal of the movement is that by 2020, no person belonging to the middle class should sleep without clothes or food.

The movement was inaugurated by Gujarat’s MP C.R.Patil, in the presence of MLA Parag Alvani, lead actress of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Neha Mehta, corporator Harsh Bhargav Patel, well-known journalist, writer and editor of Cocktail Zindagi magazine Aashu Patel, Chairman of Chitralekha group Maulik Kotak, editor of Chitralekha magazine Bharat Ghelani and Gujarati playwright Praveen Solanki on 27th July, 2019 at Sardar Patel Baug, Parleshwar Road, Vile Parle East, Mumbai 400 057.

Journalists like Devanshu Desai, Faysal Bakili, Bhupendra Patel and others were also present. Maharaj Nayanpadmasagarji also graced the occasion with his presence and blessed everyone. He also said that the current Indian political scenario is one of the very best the country has seen, praising the Narendra Modi government.
MP C.R. Patil was also felicitated during the event for winning with the highest margins of votes across in the country, at the Lok Sabha elections held a few months ago in India. The felicitation was jointly done by Patidar Swajan, Bhavans Cultural Centre and Chitralekha Natya Samiti.
Many people came forward to donate the essentials out of which 90% of the things were brand new. Thousands of items were donated and taken home by people from the middle class in one day.
Boxes full of essentials will be kept for people to come and pick up whatever they need at the above-mentioned address, twice a month. The dates for the same will be declared from time to time. Those who want to donate and be a part of the movement can do so by visiting the venue or sending their donations at the same address.
