Community award for Mansi Bodalia

Mansi Bodalia

CHICAGO, IL — Maine East High School senior Mansi Bodalia is one of two local students to receive a Community Star Award this year from the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

Bodalia’s recognition stems from her leadership role with Maine East’s Rotary Interact Club, in which she has organized fundraising efforts–leading to the purchase of $11,500 worth of toys for the WGN Toy Drive for children in need in 2016 and even more in 2017–and increasing club membership to more than 360 students, her nomination said.

With Rotary, Bodalia was credited for leading a team to assist the Park Ridge Parks Foundation’s Bike and Trike Exchange and contributing to Maine East’s Random Acts of Kindness Week. She has also organized Rotary’s participation in the Park Ridge Charity Classic 5K fundraiser and Meals for Africa, in which members have packed meals for distribution to families in need.

In November, Bodalia was honored for community service by Maine Township High School District 207.
