Rishi Shah is among newest billionaires
CHICAGO, IL — Outcome Health, a Chicago, Ill.-based healthcare tech company founded by two Indian American entrepreneurs in 2006, has produced a billionaire.
Rishi Shah, a co-founder of the company who quit college to become an entrepreneur, joined the Chicago billionaire club recently. His fellow co-founder Shradha Agarwal is not far behind.
Outcome Health, which made waves with a $600-million venture capital investment in their company recently, is now valued at $5.6 billion.
The company installs touchscreens in doctor’s offices and uses specialized software to help physicians and patients make treatment decisions.
“It’s changing the life of a doctor,” Shah said. Forbes now estimates the 31-year-old Shah’s net worth at $3.6 billion.
Shah met Agarwal at Northwestern University in the early 2000s and they started their company after cobbling together their own money.
Before accepting venture capital, Shah owned 80 per cent of the company; Agarwal 20 per cent.
The company expects to be in 70 per cent of doctors’ offices nationwide by 2020 and intends to expand overseas. There’s even talk of an IPO.
