Indian teen shot dead in garage
SACRAMENTO, CA — A 17-year-old Indian American teenager in Sacramento, Calif., was fatally shot on November 8 on his way home from work.
Gurnoor Singh Nahal, a senior slated to graduate in the spring of 2017 from Inderkum High School, was shot in the garage of his home in the 5700 block of Kandinsky Way at about 10:40 pm.
Singh drove home from his father’s retail store at around 10:30 pm and about 10 minutes later, the Sacramento police were responding to a report of a shooting at the Nahal house
It was Nahal’s grandmother who found him lying in the garage.
She said the boy cried for help, but it was too late
“She heard it and it was very loud and I think when she heard that, she came out and then she saw him,” Nahal’s uncle Tejinderjit Singh said
Responding officers found the teen in the garage suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The family believes Nahal was followed home from work, and the shooter may have been after the cash inside his car.
He had collected the money from his family’s business before heading home but the money was never taken
The police canvassed the area searching for clues and asked witnesses for help, but were unable to generate a good lead.
No motive has been determined and the police are still investigating the crime.
