Blaze at Bank Of India building in Mumbai

Mumbai, April 21 (IANS) A major fire broke out in the upper floors of Bank of India’s heritage building here on Friday evening, officials said. There were no reports of any casualties so far.

Thick clouds of smoke could be seen billowing out of the top floors of the building, located close to the Bombay High Court and the Flora Fountain-Hutatma Chowk memorials in the central business district in south Mumbai.

At least four fire tenders and ambulances were rushed to the spot and efforts were on to contain the conflagration even as the building was quickly evacuated.
