Moreover, she controlled her carbohydrate intake while following her regular diet. Bhumi exercised portion control and was very particular about not bingeing. The actress also had a cheat meal every five days.
Surprisingly, Bhumi never went to a dietician or a nutritionist for her weight loss journey. The actress, who left our jaws dropped with her transformation, revealed that it has only been her mother’s vast knowledge of food and a little help from Google search that helped her to lose weight. Apart from being physically active, Bhumi ate simple home-cooked meals as the most effective way for weight loss. The mother-daughter duo came up with a diet plan, which helped her in the long run.
Bhumi Pednekar often posts about her weight loss lifestyle on her Instagram handle and also shares diet and lifestyle tips. The actress has a sweet tooth, but she still managed to reduce the intake of refined sugar in her diet. So, instead of craving and depriving herself of sweetness, Bhumi looked for some healthier options. Calling natural sweeteners a boon and an affordable option, the actress shared:
“Raw honey is good for digestion and is packed with zinc, potassium, calcium and vitamin B6. Add it to your nimbu paani, oats, even milk. You can also add it to your salad dressing. But please don’t cook it at high temperatures, as it will lose its taste and nutrients. There is maple syrup, coconut sugar and a whole bunch of other natural sweeteners. But always remember guys, even though these options are healthier, they still need to be eaten in moderation.”
Water is one of the key ingredients of Bhumi’s weight-loss journey, as the actress ensured to drink at least 7 litres of water per day. However, she also experimented a bit and came up with an interesting detox water recipe. Bhumi’s detox water encompasses lemon juice, mint, cucumber and some fresh water, and she kept sipping on it the entire day. Bhumi revealed:
“I found this thing called detox water. It cleanses and detoxifies your body. Lemon not only cleanses your body but also makes it alkaline. It also boosts your immunity. Mint aids digestion and gives the drink some sweetness without any sugar. Cucumber has several benefits – it’s good for your skin, it keeps your body hydrated, and it contains anti-inflammatory properties. In short, it’s good for you. Just remove it from the fridge in a couple a hours, strain the liquid and Just pop it your sipper and keep sipping on it…one of the things I tried.”
Bhumi Pednekar has been flaunting her toned physique like no other, and everyone is obsessed with her transformation. As everybody wanted to know if the actress opted for some pills or a fad diet, she decided to share her diet plan with her fans. Bhumi started posting a series of pictures to reveal her diet plan to lose more than 30 kgs in a few months. So, let’s have a look at what the actress ate during the day to lose weight.
Bhumi Pednekar starts her mornings with a glass of warm or detox water, and thirty minutes later, she eats muesli with skimmed milk and flax or sunflower seeds. After some time, the actress enjoys a king-sized breakfast which includes whole-wheat bread with two egg white omelettes and fruit. Bhumi kickstarts her day with breakfast, which she ensures to eat an hour before gymming.
Bhumi Pednekar also advised her fans about how to make healthy meals and lose weight easily. She eats simple, home-cooked wholesome food that includes roti, sabzi and dal. However, the twist is that her rotis are not made of wheat, but of bajra, jowar, nachni, soya, chana or rajgira. Sometimes, she also mixes all these grains together to make a power-packed multi-grain roti instead of using them individually. Moreover, her dal has tadka and the sabzi is cooked in olive oil used in moderation. She also consumes homemade curd or buttermilk.
Bhumi Pednekar keeps her dinner simple and light, which she starts at around 7 pm. The actress eats a big bowl of salad with all greens, an apple and some walnuts or dried berries. She dresses her salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar or some olive chilli oil with garlic and mustard to add more taste. To keep dinner fun, at times she also adds grilled chicken or feta cheese. By 8.30 pm, she takes her dinner, which is usually grilled fish or chicken, and when she’s in the mood for a vegetarian dinner, she eats grilled or slightly pan-cooked paneer/tofu, stir-fried or steamed vegetables with a small cup of brown rice or a thin multigrain roti.
Snacking is very important for everyone, but one must choose the healthier versions. The same is the case with Bhumi Pednekar, who is very mindful of her snacking choices. At around 4 pm, she eats half a papaya or an apple/pear/guava, after which she has a cup of green tea with a few almonds or walnuts. To lose weight, Bhumi swapped her crackers, samosas, and cappuccino with fruits, nuts, and green tea.
Apart from eating right, Bhumi Pednekar also believes in working out to lose fat and build lean muscle mass. Bhumi prefers to alternate between cardio and weight lifting at the gym to improve her muscle mass, tone her body, and improve muscle strength and power. She also emphasises moving around a lot instead of sitting at one place for too long. Time and again, Bhumi opened up about healthy living and clean eating. In an interview with the Indian Express, the actress talked about her fitness routine and said:
“I walk as often as possible. There are times when I just go for a run, or at the job where I’m sitting for like 45 minutes. So, I don’t really have a regimented rule. One thing that I stick to is reaching the gym at least five times. As opposed to a lot of people thinking that women should not lift weights, I have seen the difference with my weight training regimen. My posture has improved while my aches and pains, and injuries have subsided.”
Bhumi Pednekar believes that self-acceptance and healthy eating is the key to healthy transformation. So, one should always try to experiment with healthier alternatives and know their body’s needs. So, would you also like to lose weight like Bhumi and follow her diet plan and fitness regime?
