Benfica beat Penafiel 3-0 in Portuguese league

Lisbon, Jan 5 : Benfica beat Penafiel 3-0 in the northern Pelafiel City in the 15th round of the Portuguese football league.

Talisca opened the scoring in the 37th minute, Jonas scored in the 78th using his chest after taking a cross by Maxi Pereira, and Jardel scored in the 88th with a header Sunday, reports Xinhua.

Benfica's seventh consecutive victory in the Portuguese league this season took them to 40 points, six ahead of FC Porto.

Also Sunday, Guimaraes routed Nacional 4-0 at the Dom Afonso Henriques Stadium, with Ricardo Gomes opening the scoring and Andre completing a hat-trick nine minutes before the end of the game.
