Because Of COVID-Linked Staff Shortage MTA Suspended 2 Train Lines

HI INDIA NEWS DESK
NEW YORK, NY – The MTA suspended service on two subways lines and warned New Yorkers to expect delays on two others because of staffing issues linked to the surge of COVID-19 cases, officials said.
New York City Transit announced Thursday morning that B and W train service has been suspended because there were not enough operators to run them.
“Like everyone in New York, we’ve been affected by the COVID surge,” the MTA tweeted. “We’re running as much train service as we can.”
The MTA warned commuters to expect delays on the 2 and 3 lines for the same reason.
Z train service was also suspended with J trains making local stops, according to the MTA.
This news came as New York City battles the COVID variant omicron, which has caused a record-breaking spike in cases and triggered staffing shortages across city agencies.
