Barcelona, Aug 1: Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and midfielder Andre Gomes on Tuesday passed their pre-football season medical checks at Barça's Joan Gamper Sports City.

Both the German goalkeeper and the Portuguese midfielder were given extended holidays due to their appearance with their national teams in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in June, reports Efe.

Ter Stegen, who had trained on his own on Monday, worked out along with Gomes on Tuesday and both are set to rejoin the rest of the team on Wednesday.

Barcelona landed on Sunday in the Catalan capital after its pre-season tour of the United States. Spanish coach Ernesto Valverde gave his players a three-day rest.

Spanish striker Gerard Deulofeu also trained on Tuesday, as he did not travel to the US to continue recovering from a right leg injury.

The Catalan team claimed the International Champions Cup last week after winning three friendlies in the US.

The squad will resume training on Wednesday to prepare for the pre-season friendly against Gimnastic Tarragona on Friday.

The Catalan team will play the final pre-season friendly, the Gamper Trophy match, against Brazilian club Chapecoense on August 7.

Barcelona's Camp Nou is set to host current La Liga champion Real Madrid on August 13 in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup, while the second leg will take place on August 16 at Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
