Football players from across the world and A-list Hollywood stars stepped out in style to celebrate the Ballon d’Or 2021 ceremony. The ceremony kickstarted on a high note at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris on Monday (November 29). Lionel Messi, Alexia Putellas, Tom Holland amongst others arrived on the event looking dapper as always.

Organized by France Football, the annual event is held to honour the best men and women’s football players. The winners are decided on the basis of voting cast by journalists from around the world. Zendaya and Tom Holland dressed to impress for the occasion. The Euphoria actress stepped out wearing a body-hugging black dress with an open back. She complimented the look with a silver spinelike accessory. As for the Spider-Man actor. he opted for a classic black-and-white tuxedo.

Barcelona captain Alexia Putellas, who won the Ballon d’Or Féminin Award, charmed in a black sequined gown with a plunging keyhole cutout and puffed sleeves. Lionel Messi twinned with his kids Ciro, Mateo & Thiago in a dapper, dazzling black tuxedo. Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, donned a golden dress.

Messi bagged his Ballon d’Or number seven. Chelsea won the  Club of the Year. “Thank you very much for the award,” says captain Cesar Azpilicueta. “I am really proud of this award.” Emma Hayes and Thomas Tuchel. Simon Kjaer also received a warm ovation for his strong leadership during Euro 2020. He heroically responded to Christian Eriksen’s collapse during Denmark’s match with Finland and won everyone’s heart.

As for women football, Alexia Putellas wins the 2021 Ballon d’Or Féminin! She scored 26 goals from midfield last season. One of them was during in the Champions League final win over Chelsea, and won Uefa’s Women’s Player of the Year award. Kylian Mbappe, ranked number nine this year, announced the winner of the Ballon d’Or Féminin.
