ST LOUIS, MO- Bal Vihar of St. Louis celebrated its Family Night in presence of 500+ participants from the Center for Indian Cultural school on September 28, 2018. Family night is held every other year to allow Bal Vihar students and their families to get to know each other.
The evening started off with some fun activities for the children. Youth students and volunteers were busy with face painting, tattoos, nail posh and helping them learn how to make a paper airplane. After the social hour and entertainment for the children, event moved on to lighting of diya (lamp) in front of the goddess and sing Aarti. As Navaratri was just around the corner. This activity followed much awaited part of the evening – Garba and Dandiya Raas. Garba.
Garba and Raas followed the Dinner where delicious Indian food was served hot in buffet style. The evening moved onto Bingo. Bingo after dinner, another popular and exciting activity during Family Night event at Bal Vihar.
Center for Indian Cultural Education – Bal Vihar of St. Louis is a non-profit organization. Since its inception in 1992 it has been serving the Metro St. Louis Indian community. The primary focus of this organization is to provide Indian cultural education to students age 5-18, its application and integration with the global multicultural and multifaceted society. Over last 25+ years Bal Vihar has helped groom a breed of multi-cultural global leaders of next generation that have been shaped by the best of the cultures from east and west. These youngsters understand the need and value of the cultural values that have been instilled in them through the rigorous program. Students are also taught discipline, tolerance and devotion in their daily routine.
