The team of And Just Like That has given us a month to expect the premiere of the show, albeit more details are yet to come.

The Sex and The City reboot, which was formally announced in January, can be expected on HBO Max in December.

In a video shared on the official social media handles of the show, Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays the beloved writer Carrie Bradshaw, made the revelation. In the video she announces the show’s end-of-year debut as we watch behind-the-scenes footage of her, Cynthia Nixon, playing Miranda Hobbes, and Kristin Davis, who we know as Charlotte York Goldenblatt, on set for the show “with some beloved friends.”

The announcement was first made at an HBO Max launch event where the streaming service showcased several of their upcoming projects, including this exclusive teaser for the highly anticipated SATC reboot.

The show, which has dealt with the lives of 30-year-somethings as they navigate love, friendship, careers and generally life is now set to circle around the challenges the 50s bring to the lives of these fabulous women. Most of the fans’ favourites such as Chris Noth, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Willie Garson and Evan Handler have been retained.

However, the show would not have a Samantha anymore; Kim Cattrall has refused to return for this reprising after 6 seasons and two movies in this storyline.

Although the writers from the original series have been retained, and so have been most of the creative teams, the word is, the show would look a little different this time around.

There are new additions to the recurring cast. The show has, this time around, tried to address certain issues surrounding inclusivity. Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman, and Sarita Choudhury will now be familiar faces once the show airs.

HBO Max’s chief content officer, Casey Bloys, told a media representative that the SATC creators “are being very, very conscious about understanding that New York has to reflect the way New York looks today.”

The news of the launch comes only weeks after the demise of Willie Garson, who we knew to be Carrie’s friend, Stanford Blatch.
