AIADMK calls party legislators to Chennai

Chennai, Sep 28 (IANS) The AIADMK party has asked all its legislative assembly members to be present at the party headquarters here on Sunday, said a party official.

The meeting is expected to choose the party’s next chief minister following the conviction of the incumbent J. Jayalalithaa in the Rs.66-crore disproportionate assets case by a special court in Bangalore on Saturday.

Jayalalithaa has been sentenced to four years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.100 crore has been slapped on her. She is currently in a Bangalore jail.

Tamil Nadu ministers, AIADMK party leaders and legislative assembly members are in Bangalore.

The meeting at the party headquarters here is expected to be held in the evening.
