Advantage Tennis Academy to conduct high performance camp in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: There is good news for young tennis players as the Advantage Tennis Academy will conduct a High Performance tennis programme under-14 and under-18 categories from October 1 at St.Thomas High School, Vinayak Nagar, Neredmet, Secunderabad.

This programme will include fitness and conditioning, biomechanical assessments, tennis psychology, players pathway towards graduating from juniors to men and women apart from on court technical, tactical, mental and physical training along with financial management assistance for parents/guardians.

“Our main motto is to retain the players in the game. Increase the span of the player with biomechanical assessments and maintain the longevity to sustain playing 3 (three) setter matches week after week in a calendar year,’’ said D.R.C.Kiron, Director of DRC Sports Foundation.

He further said tennis requires resilience and so they will be working on psychology, strength and conditioning along with technique and tactics. “We will emphasize for the players to work on the three energy systems to achieve their goals. We are in synergies with qualified and experienced professionals to design this programme.’’

The fitness and conditioning will be under the guidance of Naveen Reddy, Director of Nex Gen Fitness while Harini Vemuri, MSPT and Director of Flexitude, will monitor physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

Kiron pointed out that they have designed the 14 and under structure with the support and resources from Evolution Kids Tennis and under 18 structure from RPT’s Spanish Tennis Teaching System and ITF’s player development programme. “The under-18 programme is more sophisticated to make sure players from the ITF junior circuit graduate to the ITF World Men & Women Tour.

“We will evaluate the players technical skills and provide complete study of all the strokes with video analysis and then work on improving their technique. Keep their technique. We will also be working on players to build their own game style and work on different situations.’’
