5 Bollywood Movies Where The Outfits & Weather Had No Connection & Left Us Saying ‘WTF’

BUY-SELL | HELP WANTED | MATRIMONIAL

Bollywood gets a lot of things wrong. One of them is messing up the clothes of the cast.

Be it the slip-ups in official uniforms or outfits that aren’t appropriate for a season, Hindi cinema has a reputation for not putting in enough thought and research before dressing up the cast>.

After revisiting the films we’ve loved since forever, we realise that some things don’t quite add up, like the wardrobe of the people in the movie that don’t really go with a particular weather or season. It’s confusing and cringy but funny too, sometimes.

Here are five Bollywood movies in which we still don’t know what the weather was, thanks to the random costumes the cast wore:

1. Mohabbatein

We spent our entire childhood thinking it’s autumn in this film because that dry leaf is practically one of the main leads! But girls are in summer clothes while the boys wear blazers and sweaters inside the school like it’s December.

There’s Uday Chopra who wears sleeveless jackets and Shah Rukh Khan has a pullover over his shoulder in the entire movie. Someone explain.

2. Student Of The Year

The college is supposed to be in Dehradun, Uttarakhand but the filmmakers did little or no research on how students dress for the weather, let alone for school.

They have blazers for uniforms but there are people roaming around in T-shirts, tank tops, shorts, sweaters and hoodies, all at the same time.

3. Main Hoon Na

Okay, before you tell us ‘it’s definitely winter’ in Main Hoon Na, hear us out.

It could be Bollywood’s logic of women not feeling cold, but Amrita Rao is literally in crop tops. And, Sushmita in a chiffon saree when SRK is in a half sweater and let’s not talk about Zayed Khan whose style changes like weather (excuse the pun).

4. Kapoor & Sons

Although set in Coonoor which is pleasant throughout the year, every person in this movie dresses for different weather.

While Fawad Khan dons a sweater in most scenes, Alia is wearing only sundresses. Even in the poster, everyone is wearing clothes apt for different seasons.

5. Race 3

We agree that expecting logic from a movie like Race 3 is redundant but seriously, what is going on with the wardrobe of the cast in this film? Anil Kapoor is walking the desert in an overcoat while Bhai is in a T-shirt.

Lord Bobby is wearing a jacket and there’s someone wearing a waistcoat. Although it’s none of our business, why is Daisy Shah wearing a leather jacket?
