43rd Health fair at Midwest Swaminarayan Temple

ITASCA, IL- The 43rd Health Fair was successfully completed at Midwest Swaminarayan Temple in Itasca Illinois. The event took place on Sunday, September 30, 2018 in main hall and dining hall of the temple, and was sponsored by the Midwest Swaminarayan Temple, Lohana Association of Greater Chicago (LAGC), Gujarati Samaj of Chicago (GSC) Kadva Patidar Samaj (KPS) and Sadhu Vaswani Center, Chicago. The goal was to provide medical check up to all those who may not be able to afford medical services due to insurance and medical coverage problems.  The Health Fair provided free medical checkup for more than 450 participants.

More than 29 doctors and 110 Health Care professionals provided their volunteer services on this day. Registration and front desk services were provided by Bharatbhai Thakkar, Bhupendrabhai Thakkar, Nareshbhai Dekhtawala, Manubhai Shah, Bhartiben Desai, and Tusharbhai Thakkar.

Vital data such as height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, were checked for each participant. Health services like Blood test, urine analysis, EKG, Physical examination and physical consultation, Dental Examination and consultation, Nutritional, Diet and Diabetes education, demonstration and information provided. Bone Density Test, Eye screening and consultation, and ENT consultation. Among busy work schedual all doctors volunteers services provided  by Dr Samir Patel, Dr. Namrata Patel, Dr. Samir Shah, Dr Hetal Gandhi, Dr. Pratima Shah, Dr. Jayashree Raju, Dr Yogesh Parikh, Dr Brijesh Patel, Dr. Amit Patel. Dr. Melissa Suckow, Dr. Javeria Azhar, Dr Narayan (Bob) Tata, Dr. R. Gardi, Dr. Kishore Lakhani. Dr Sanjay Bansal, Dr. Nargis Awtaramani, and Dr. Chandra Dachepalli

Nutritional, Diet and Diabetes education were provided by Sweta Sheth and Dipti Shah.  Sadden Cardiac Awareness Research Foundation provided demonstration and Information on how you can save life in critical condition by Janki Dave, Anish Raju and Rutva Bhatt..

Flu shot were provided by Sushila Patel, Parita Desai, Gita Patel and Narendra Patel. About 250 flu shot were given to patients

Other health care services provided  by Beena Shah, Dakshaben Thakkar, Palak Patel, Arti Thakkar, Tejas Patel, Bharat Acharya, Giri Dassani, Dimple Thakkar, Kajal Patel, Soniya Gupta, Aroma Desai, Nina Patel, Mayuri Zaveri, Anuradha Bangaley, Minaxi Mittal, Nisha Rao, Swetu Baxi, Vipinbhai Shah, Chhaya Marfatia, Naren Barot, Ramesh Thakkar. Carla Zang, Tanvi Bhatt, Riddhi Panchal, Shivani Patel, Rachana Gangwani and Shamali Dushani.

Volunteers for blood draw tables services provided by Bakul Thakkar, Janak Patel, Sonal Thakkar, Vinu Patel,  Daya Bhimani, Chhya Shah, Mukesh Panchal, Pragna Patel, Manisha Pasawala and Nikki Patel.

The Health Fair was well organized and went very smoothly. Many happy faces were seen that they received the medical services they needed at one place with out any cost to them.

The Itasca Swaminarayan temple team did a great job providing all support and time for a good cause of the community! Temple provided Tea, Coffee, gotta and light snack to all patients and launch for volunteers.
