Gurugram, July 19

Three persons died while one was severely injured after a three-storeyed building collapsed in Khawaspur village near Gurugram late last evening. All three victims were employed as labourers at a nearby warehouse. The police have nabbed the warehouse manager while the owner is reportedly absconding.

The dilapidated building that collapsed was owned by the warehouse.

The rescue operation, launched around 8 pm on Sunday, lasted 19 hours. One body was pulled out from the debris on Sunday night and two on Monday. “While one person was rescued on Sunday, three persons unfortunately died in the incident,” said the Farrukhnagar police station in-charge.

The victims, aged between 28 and 35 years, have been identified as Robin and Pradeep Singh from Uttar Pradesh and Rahul Bhardwaj from Bhiwani in Haryana. The injured, Pradeep Choudhary, also from Bhiwani, is admitted in Civil Hospital.

The police have registered a case against warehouse owner Ravinder Kataria and manager Krishan Kaushik under Sections 288, 34 and 304 of the Indian Penal Code. — OC
