3 Chicago men killed in explosion near Starved Rock are identified. Investigation still ‘open and ongoing.’

The LaSalle County coroner on Monday identified the three men from Chicago who were killed Thursday when they ignited a black powder substance that exploded along a bank of the Illinois River next to Starved Rock State Park.
