PRINCETON, NJ- A health awareness and prevention was organized by the Indian Health Camp of New Jersey in collaboration with Durga Mandir. The event has been held for eight consecutive years. The non-profit held the fair to benefit uninsured or underinsured in NJ.
The health screening included blood test, EKG, vision screening for glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, physical examination, dental evaluation, cardiology evaluation, physical therapy, various types of cancer screening and prevention education, diabetes and stroke education, flu vaccine, dietary counseling, pharmacy counseling, mental health screening and evaluation and many other ancillary services. The physicians and specialists provided their services.
The blood test reports will be reviewed by the physicians and mailed to all participants with a counseling note for any abnormal tests. The blood test services were provided by Rupen Patel of Accurate Diagnostic Labs. Many local organizations and institutions supported which included RWJ-New Brunswick, Rutgers Medical School, Middlesex County Health team, Trenton Health team, Philippines Nursing Association, SAATHI, SAMHIN, All Well Pharmacy, Walgreens Pharmacy and Penn Medicine-Princeton.
The next health fair of Indian Health Camp of NJ will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Shree Swaminarayan Temple, NJ 07061. The online registration to participate in this health fair will be available in the near future on www.IHCNJ.org.
