HI INDIA NEWS DESK
WOODBRIDGE, NJ: 1947 Productions & Entertainment Inc., a leading event management company, hosted the 9th Annual Biggest Ganesh Utsav Festival of America between August 31 to September 4th at Woodbridge Center Mall, Woodbridge, NJ. The event, commonly known as Ganesh Chaturthi worldwide, is a celebration of the rebirth of Lord Ganesh. Popularly celebrated with great fervor all around India, 1947 has been keeping the tradition alive for the South Asian diaspora in USA.

After an overwhelming response from the inaugural event in Year ‘2014, the festival has increasingly grown in visitors with over 150,000 people in attendance annually. The five-day festival is marked by a massive 14 feet statue of Lord Ganesh, which is worshipped over the course of the celebrations. A vendor fair featuring jewelry, apparel, toys, food, along with a dance performance show allows visitors to better experience the culture of India. Honorable Kiran Bedi along with the Playback Singer Javed Ali and Bollywood actor Abhimanyu Dasani, have graced the stage, attracting crowds hoping to catch a glimpse as they pay their respects to Ganesh.

The positive response from both the attendees and sponsors, like Shoprite, SLT Foods, Zee TV, Patel Brothers, Swad Foods, 27th Cares, New York Life, MassMutual, Aaj Tak, TV Asia, Royal Albert’s Palace and many more demonstrates the need for experiential events such as these, which aim to keep Indian Americans stay connected to their roots. With 2.5 million Hindus in America, one of the fastest growing demographics, 1947’s work in increasing representation will prove to be invaluable for future generations.
