66 Months in Prison for Indian American Man Selling Stolen Apple Products

COLORADO- Saurabh Chawla, 36 a resident of Colorado has been jailed because he bought stolen Apple products and other electronics and sold them on eBay and Amazon.

He has been sentenced to 66 months in prison. According to the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland, Chawla worked with a FedEx distribution center manager from Delaware to steal packages before they could reach the customers. The thefts included many products ranging from Nike sneakers, electronics from Epson, Apple, Kenwood and others. The story came to light when one Kristy Stock of New Mexico was sentenced for interstate transportation of stolen goods. Stock admitted that she stole more than 3,000 iPods purchased by the school district and sold them on eBay to Chawla and others. She also said she received more than $800,000 in illegal proceeds from selling stolen iPods.
