Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago (PCS) (www.PCSChicago.org) Officials formed their working board for the year 2021. PCS is an all volunteer non-profit community service organization which aims to promote Punjabi Culture within the Punjabi community and also share it with the mainstream Americans.
In a PCS officials meeting recently Kevindeep Singh Atwal 2020 chairman was selected to continue as the honorary PCS Chairman for 2021.
Kevindeep Singh Atwal is a business development professional at Discover Financial Services, a leading payment network headquartered in Riverwoods, IL. Previously, Kevin led the Apple Pay international expansion and transit programs at Apple, Inc. based in Cupertino, CA. Kevin has considerable international experience having lived, studied or worked in the Chicago Metropolitan Area, London, Hong Kong, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Kevin has considerable passion for Punjabi music routinely playing the Punjabi Dhol on PCS’ float in the annual Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade. He brings a love of Punjabi culture to his role as Chairman of the Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago, having participated in PCS programs for nearly 30 years.
“The COVID19 pandemic has curtailed all gathering activities but I am looking forward to continue to be working with the Punjabi Community and youth to celebrate PCS programs as much as safely possible this year,” said the PCS Chairman Kevindeep Singh Atwal.
Parvinder Singh Nanua was named the new PCS president for 2021. Parvinder Singh Nanua has been on the PCS Board at various positions since about a decade. His children have participated in PCS activities. He has a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, and a Master of Science in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is originally from Haryana, immigrated to Fort Wayne, Indiana where he was involved in community service and started a branch of PCS in Fort Wayne prior to moving to Chicago area where he is a Chief Engineer of Power Train Systems at Navistar, Inc.
“We have a dedicated team of PCS officials working hard to produce PCS programs virtually. I hope and pray that this COVID pandemic will be over soon and we can go back to our normal programming routine,” said the incoming PCS President Parvinder Singh Nanua.
Other directors on the 2021 PCS board as elected are, Manjeet Singh Bhalla – Vice President, Bhupinder Singh Dhaliwal -Executive Secretary, Bikram Singh Sohi – Finance Director, Navtej Singh Sohi – Asstt. Executive Secretary, Gurlal Singh Bhattal – Asstt. Finance Director, Gurpreet Singh Sidhu – Inter Community Director and.Parmjot Singh Parmar – Youth Director.
After the PCS flagship cultural event “Rangla Punjab 2021” which took place virtually on Zoom on April 25, 2021, the next virtual event will be “PCS Graduation Night 2021” in July 2021, where High School and College Graduates will be Honored and awarded. The 2021 graduates are encouraged to register online at www.pcschicago.org .
