CHICAGO,IL— CRY, Child Rights and You America Inc. (CRY America), a 501c3 non profit that works towards ensuring children their basic rights to live, learn, grow and play, organizes it’s 13th annual CRY Walk for Child Rights across 16 cities. The annual walk brings together people from varied walks of life, who feel passionately for the cause. The event provides a platform for people to help children secure a better future and reinforces the belief that “change is possible.”
Walkers and runners alike in Chicago participated in 5k walks and runs on September 15th at Busse Woods on a beautiful sunny day. The walk lead, Avani Shah, along with volunteers held a successful walk, raising up to $3,500. The day consisted of a 5k Walk/Run with many activities for participants, which included food, henna, watermelon eating contest, musical chairs, and a lemon race. The event had 75 participants. The event was a space for families to have an outing and ensure opportunities for underprivileged children.
