10 St. Louis Students Win National Hindi Poetry Competition Hosted by HindiUSA

. Over 100 students from 10 states, representing 4 of HindiUSA's remote/online schools, competed for the top spots in the competition.

ST LOUIS, MO- The weekend of March 4th, 2023 was a historic moment for the Hindi language community in the United States, as students from across the country participated in the first-ever National Online Hindi Poetry Competition organized by HindiUSA. Over 100 students from 10 states, representing 4 of HindiUSA’s remote/online schools, competed for the top spots in the competition.

The competition was divided into three slots, with each slot consisting of participants from beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. The program was smoothly run by four MCs and school coordinators and was judged by 9 highly qualified judges from across the US, including Dr. Nisha Pandya from Wisconsin and Dr. Rakesh Kumar from the Midwest region.

The students were evaluated on their pronunciation, tone, and emotional expression, and the competition provided them with a unique opportunity to improve their Hindi language skills and learn about India’s rich poetic heritage. The event also allowed teachers to gain insight into their students’ hidden talents and creativity.

HindiUSA St. Louis school was particularly proud of its students’ performance, with 10 students from the school placing in the top 3 in their respective levels. The winners from HindiUSA St. Louis were Saanvi Singh, Kiara Khanna, Pranav Popuri, Navya Shah, Janani Karthikeyan, Misha Gangawani, Ria Jain, Aadvika Rawat, Anouksha Popuri, and Ritvik Jain.

HindiUSA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit Hindi language school with a vision to develop interest in the Hindi language among children. The St. Louis chapter was founded by Mr. Mayank Jain and his wife Dr. Anshu Jain in 2018, and has grown from 22 students and 5 volunteer teachers to 128 students and 26 dedicated volunteers and teachers. HindiUSA St. Louis is recognized by the Indian Consulate in Chicago as the largest non-profit Hindi language school in the 9 Midwest states of the US.

The St. Louis chapter of HindiUSA runs its weekly Friday evening classes at the Cultural and Educational Center of the Hindu Temple of St. Louis in Ballwin, Missouri.
