SECAUCUS, NJ — On January 1, members of the Secaucus Swaminarayan Gadi Temple celebrated the New Year with a grand, indoor carnival held in the Temple’s Community Hall.
Over 400 people got together to enjoy this day. There were 14 traditional, carnival games and a Gladiator Pit, Bounce House, and
a 50-foot-long obstacle course which everyone enjoyed.
There was cotton candy and popcorn for all to enjoy along
with snacks made by temple volunteers.
Hersh Patel, who serves as the temple’s spokesman said: "We have never held an event like this and had no idea it would be this successful.
Every year on New Year’s Day, the temple gets together and holds a mini Olympics kind of event for the children who get to play indoor games like as well as many team building activities.
This is one of many activities the Temple holds year round, whether it is their Health Camps, Blood Drives, Food Drives, Eyeglasses Drive, Open House, and even our Swamibapa Pipeband.
The temple makes a concerted effort to be involved with the community that they proudly call home.
